I had enough of the winters and moved to New Orleans 6 years ago.

: I lived in the city and still work there. Like I said you learn to accept it. Maybe it has some good points but there's also a lot of messed up stuff here and in the surrounding areas. And my personal opinion is that the music and art scenes are overrated. But thats just my opinion.

: : I grew up in Detroit and it's not a bad place. It has very good music and art scenes! Actually it has many cool things.
: : Detroit gets the most unfair bad rap in the country.

:
: : : You learn to accept it.

: : : : so he knows about home towns getting a bad rap. He wouldn't slam NJ

: : : : : Not funny as in 'oh, he doesn't have talent enough to be there.' No funny like 'can you imagine that airing.'

: : : : : Lipton: You grew up... in New York's bastard sibling, New Jersey. Could you describe what it was like growing up... in a place so abaissez la classe.

: : : : : Kevin: Uh, it was like growing up anywhere else, I'd imagine. Jersey isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It really is a beautiful state.

: : : : : Lipton: ...

: : : : : Kevin: (nervously) Well, I guess I--

: : : : : Lipton: In 1994 you released a striking film that forever revolutionized cinema. It boasted of bold characters who were not afraid to express themselves in bold ways. Words like 'cocksmoker' and 'fag' were tossed about as freely as rice in a Thai field. That movie... was 'Clerks.'

: : : : : (applause)

: : : : : Kevin: Yes. Yes it was.

: : : : : Lipton: ...

: : : : : Kevin: I guess the impact that 'Clerks' had on--

: : : : : Lipton: Filmed only in black and white, and funded from credit cars and acts of sexual depravity, Clerks debuted to an audience not prepared for what they were about to see. They were... awed. They were... mesmerized. They were J'ai un grand chien!

: : : : : Kevin: ... thanks?...

: : : : : Lipton: Clerks was soon followed by, what I think to be one of the underrated movies of the last century, which featured a de-lightfuulllll cast of newcommers such as Jason Lee (applause) and Samuel De Champaigne.

: : : : : Kevin: I'm sorry, who?

: : : : : Lipton: A wonderful French actor who played 'Audience Member #24' and a close friend to my beautiful wife and myself. The movie was Mallrats...

: : : : : -------------

: : : : : anyway, you get the idea. It would seem a bit "fish out of the water"ish to me.
