You waited too long my friend. The movie never lives up to the hype. So go out and find some movie that looks like it hasn't been rented in good long while. who knows, you may find the next cult classic that your friends haven't caught onto yet. I was one of the first five or six people in my home town to see Clerks. And now you can't bump into anyone on the street who hasn't at least heard of Clerks or Kevin Smith. However taken for the B-movie that AOD is, I thought it was fucking halarious.
