: Box office numbers is a broad category my witless chum, and the fact

Well, that IS how alot of the mass-pop-culture chroniclers promote movies by the weekly ratings. Sure Star Wars and Spidey WILL out perform Sum when all is said and done but when it comes to shows like ET, Acess Hollywood, Extra, ect and magazines like People, EW and US Weekly, or even that rag that I mentioned USAWeekend, all they care about is telling the audience what the current top movie is for the week, leaving all others in the forgotten bin.

Which means that their way of thinking, the Star Wars and Spiderman hoopla is over and the new THING is Sum of All Fears, and right now THATS what they will say, that it BEAT both Star Wars AND Spidey (heck so did the Ya-Ya sisterhood) and they won't even BRING Star Wars or Spidey up again untill it closes in on all-time records later on in the year. And yes I at least know SoAF won't come CLOSE to the numbers Episode II and Spidey will have when the dust clears but that is NOT what the the American mass-pop-culture watching public will know or care about, because they are being told (through the aforementioned outlets) that those two movies basically came and went inside of a month for what ever reason (9/11 curiousity with Sum of All Fears, wanting to watch more realistic films rather than ones that appeal to fanasty driven comic book/sci-fi fans, ect)
