: So I happened to be browsing amongst my CD collection today, and noticed just how many 'Best Of' and 'Anthology' albums I owned. You want a list? Okey dokey (and before I do so, I'm sorry if I come off like a pretentious bastard trying to show off my 'cool' taste in music - I think the inclusion of Duran Duran will prevent that though).

: Beastie Boys
: Blur
: The Clash
: The Doors
: Duran Duran (two of 'em - don't ask)
: Jimi Hendrix
: Ramones
: Bruce Springsteen
: Stiff Little Fingers
: Sting & The Police
: U2

: Now, this might not be a lot, but considering I only own about 80/90 albums, it takes up a pretty big chunk of my record collection. What's the point? The point is this - for most cases, the only albums I own of the bands I listed above are the 'Best Of' ones. However, a lot of my favourite songs on my 'regular' albums are just album tracks - ones that weren't released as singles. It just seems so much easier and cheaper to buy 'Best Of' compilations, which have all the most well known songs, that I don't feel the need to buy other 'regular' albums of the artists. Am I missing out on a lot of good music? Are 'Best Of' albums the worst thing to hit music ever? Only you can decide. Or just call me an idiot and ignore me, as long as I get a response, I'm happy...
