The way she says it in the movie, it sounds like she means that it doesn't matter if you believe in Buddha, Allah, or whatever.. all that matters is that you believe in some supreme being.
Although, what was probably meant is that you must believe in God and do things the way that God wants you to do them, but don't worry about the technicalities of the religion. There is no need to argue about how baptisms should be conducted and the like.
