: actually futball came first. Now please continue...

I wasn't stating a timeline. I was stating that in my opinion, "football" denotes the NFL and NCAA.

: In Virginia, football is a big deal at most schools (high school and college). but i don't know where you live. I personally think football is one of the most boring games, right behind baseball.

That's fine. Our opinions differ. I live in Pennsylvania, and football is huge here too, smart ass.

: Football is boring because it's 10 minutes of standing, 2 seconds of playing. The coach tells the QB what to do (after the analysts upstairs tell HIM what to do), then the Receiver catches it (if he can). All you have to be able to do is stand, throw a ball, catch a ball. Come on! What sport other than football and bowling (and i'm not too sure of bowling) can a 6'5" 400lb guy get $2 mil for bumping into another fat guy??? not appealing in the slightest. In soccer, the defensive team is the offensive team. and you can't make all the substitutions you want.

Again, our opinions differ. I think "futball" is boring. But intelligent responses from people like POJK and andysith give me insight into the other side of the story. I refuse to argue why MY football is better than YOURS. That's pointless. Apparently you're not too versed in the way American football works. Like I said, I refuse to argue about the strategy and skill of American football, because if you know nothing about it, *I* certainly will never convince you.
