And while we're on the subject of stupid Americans, my Dad used to live in the States, and was once asked if he was from London. When he said he wasn't, but he was From England, the person he was talking to said 'oh, but England's just the capital of London, right?'
Makes you wonder if maybe we came off best when we lost the war of independence all those years ago... hmmm.
