Just this bit of advice, when you start having to force him to stay
involved, let it go. It is too hard on you, too much fucking work. And
as your son gets older, he would wonder what is up with you, why
couldn't YOU keep his "dad" in his life. I busted my ass doing the
same thing for almost 2 years. When it became too much of a
struggle, I let him go on and slowly back his way out of my kids lives.
It sucks, no doubt. But I can't waste energy on making someone do
something they don't want to do. Focus that energy elsewhere, you
and your child. Good luck, and just take comfort in knowing how full
Hell is gonna be. :)
