Think of how much screentime was devoted to Peter using his powers, learning about his powers, being Spider-Man, kicking ass...the movie was obviously about him, NOT the Green Goblin...the movie wasn't afraid to jump into action at a moment's notice, showing the hero acting "superhero-y", or even having the hero in costume, all things that "Batman" failed to do. It gives you just enough backstory and origin and lead-up to the hero arriving before flying into the action. These are classic superhero comic books: bright, fast, flashy, etc.. "Batman" was plodding, uneven, slow, and stagnant. It wasn't a comic book film, it wasn't a "normal" film, it was just bad. Except for Nicholson.
