look at the page with all the small writting right at the bottom. it will say the title, the number, the volume (usually 1 unless the book has been canceled and resurected) and the publisher, date, blah blah blah, but in there it has if its a second printing or 3rd or whatever. i only have like 1 printing thats not first and thats the killing joke (which doesnt have which printing it is but i know its not first). There might be otherways this is shown though, thats just the one i know about.
But you can usually assume its a first unless its something of great importance or demand. Green Arrow, Harley Quinn, Origin for example.
