It's just ridiculous that they would not properly discipline the child beforehand, or get him some sort of ongoing therapy (but only if the disciplining didn't work). And I can't belive that they would call the police on an 8-year-old for stomping on the principal's foot. Where I come from, that's called a "temper tantrum", and there's only one sure-fire way to end that: a good spanking.
