You'll be able to get into it very quickly if you're not a big comic fan. An origin story with an extra shot of bad guy, is the best way to explain it to those who aren't into comics. To describe it to a comic fan would take an extremely long time, as I could go into every little detail at great length.
I have no clue how they got it, but my friend works at a movie house, and they got spiderman in a few days ago. They weren't showing it to anyone except for people in their employ, and I got to see it twice, being friends with said employee and all.
