: : ...but I doubt I'll be able to understand much of it - all my knowledge of the web-slinger comes from the 90s cartoon and Ultimate Spidey. Although, having said that, I loved Daredevil and Green Arrow with little knowledge about either character, so I suppose that shows what a good writer Kevin is - he probably knows stupid fan-boys like me will read his comics, so although he'll go into the character's history, he'll

So, how'd you get into this? The movies or the comics first?

And what comics did you read before these?

still make it accessible to new comic book readers.

: One of the nifty things about the man's style, apart from the VA references to be found in his comics (more, I think, in DD than in GA) is that the more you know about a given character, the more inside comments you'll get. Some of the set-up for GA in the opening issues prompted me to ask a few questions of my comics dealer (it was interesting to see Bats and the Big-Blue-Schoolboy talking about Sup's newfound problems with cold, but I knew not whence his power'd flown).

: So, kinda like J&SBSB, and (not Smith's but VA related through Affleck)Shakespeare in Love; the pieces are entertaining in and of themselves, but the more bring with you, the more you get.
