up to The Flowers of Romance (but including Commercial Zone even though it wasn't important)... the first two sent me in completely different directions while i was starting my collection... Everything after those is a bit too "metal" for my tastes at this point, but i still listen to 'em all on occasion.

i didn't get INTO PiL until "happy?" so it's impossible to downplay their later albums... had i not gotten happy and 9 i would never have worked back to the first few... the only album they ever made that truly sucked was "that what is not"... and johnny's solo album sucked pretty hard too.

johnny lydon is the only "punk" to ever even CONSIDER doing an album with Bill Laswell producing, Ryuichi Sakamoto playing keyboards, Steve Vai on guitar, ginger baker on drums and Ravi Shankar playing violin? and i love him for it.
