Sexuality IS something you're born with and I'm certain that we all
become aware of it at puberty, whether it be an attraction to the same
sex, the opposite or both.
The question is what and whether you do anything about it and this is
very much an individual decision. Although ignoring it totally to the
point of complete denial (as I did for 2 years) can be extremely
painful.
My theory is that most straight people have an attraction to their own
sex, but it's often so weak it would be described as close friendship
or a special kind of bond. After all, we've all got a best friend of the
same sex.
I'd even go so far as to say that on a scale of 1 to 10 with nazi
homophobe at no.1 and flaming queen at no.10, the majority of the
world's population sit somewhere in the middle.
To pigeon-hole someone as 'Straight' or 'Gay' as though it was all so
black and white is to take a very narrow viewpoint indeed.
And to say that being gay is a choice or a fetish and that's it's all
about sex, is to be be colour blind. You're doing nothing more than
denying a part of your own self, no matter how small it is.
