If anything the inspiration probably came from an episode of seinfeld, in which elaine calls kramer a "hipster doofus".

: Just looked at Green Arrow number 13, and Hawkman calls Olver Queen a "Hipster Doofus". This was the name of a night I used to do in a night club here in Leeds in England, last year.
