This post is, well, mainly for Kevin. I hope he reads it.

So, here's a very strange exercise in synchronicity:

I was listening to the commentary on the Dogma DVD, and I heard you mention that Bruckheimer had asked you to write for the movie Coyote Ugly. It was not, however, mentioned whether you actually had or not. Since the script for this movie was essentially a big steaming pile of dog shit, I found it hard to believe that you might have had anything to do with it. (As an aside, however, Piper Perabo is awesome AND a real-life Jersey girl, so you should definitely put her in more movies.)

So I went to IMDB and looked up Coyote Ugly to see if you had any screenwriting credits, which you did not, thank god. However, when I looked up the woman who DID get the writing credit, Gina Wendkos, I found a 1992 movie she was also credited for writing...called "Jersey Girl". Starring Jami Gertz in the title role. I briefly considered having a Julie Dwyer style embolism...but then decided instead to just share this information with you and the rest of the world and see what you have to say about it. Have you heard of/seen this movie? Why would anyone make Jami Gertz a leading actress on purpose? Do you know Gina Wendkos? How can I convice you to put Piper Perabo in your movies? Why does David Byrne wear that big suit, anyway?

Okay, well. Now I'll sit back and gather up the pearls of wisdom falling from your mouth.
