I've noticed a decidedly different fundamental ideology in my perspective in watching movies and how others here, in my film class, as critics, as folks in the biz, etc. watch flicks. I see the movie as a different medium for telling (showing, hearing, etc.) stories. Ergo, the story is the most important part to me. Now I do like seeing stories told in new ways (different genres and what not). And I also like seeing nice effects, detailed shots (I think it's called "cinematography"), and the like, but bottom line, the visuals are secondary to the story to me. I was wondering what others think of movies themselves and the presuppositions you take into a movie as to what will make it "good." Anybody care to drop an opinion?
