I've just re-watched the SE DVD and most of the scenes in the "deleted scenes" extra were in the UK release at the cinema.

Were all these scenes added in because the UK has a less savage rating system? I gotta say I think the movie is fantasic but, with the added scenes it's truly spotty dog.

Oh, as a complete side point: I've managed to translate most of the slang into Britspeak but I can't work out one line. When Jay and Silent Bob are being rousted by the cop Jay says "Serpico"? Who, or what, is a Serpico?
