Question about Laserdisc Players...

THis is kinda off topic. Sorry.

Anyways, I just bought a laserdisc player off ebay, and it's LOUD. The player itself is about as loud as a microwave while it's spinning the disc. Does anyone know if this is normal, or should I do something about it(ie, return it, get it repaired, etc.)?

If it is normal, does anyone have any tips on how to muffle the noise without damaging the player?
