Kevin seemed interested when i told him how much his films meant to me growing up, but I didn't go into any depth. How can I reach you by e-mail?
Yes, I'd like to know how they affected you, but I'm even more interested to know whether you thought that they accurately portrayed your social/political world view. Did they change you? For example, did you think differently (or not at all) about sexuality before seeing "Amy"? Did you see yourself in "Dante"? Shit like that...
: When I say "overbaking", I mean reading too much into the movie. I hate it when someone takes something that was intended to be purely entertaining and applies all of this meaning to it, and I fear that I'm doing that here to some extent. I know that Kevin intended some greater meaning in his films, but I'm not sure that he set out to capture the political climate of young adults, you know? I just think I may be assuming too much about Kevin's purpose. Therefore, I'm focusing more on the films' impact, rather than their intent. However, my arguments would be a hell of lot stronger if I could address their intent, as well.
