: I'm actually more against the Spirit awards than the Oscars. I thought the whole point of being "independent" was to do things that aren't like what Hollywood does, so why have an awards show for indie films that essentially rips off the Oscars? It seems to be the antithesis of what independent filmmaking is supposed to stand for.
