JASBSB is SUPPOSED to be in the same veign as Mallrats.........comedy just for the sake of laughing at it. Why are you so hung-up on the sign in front of the Quick Stop? Isn't it obvious to you? Or are you just that naive? It's there because(obviously) the same thing happened AGAIN. JASBSB takes place shortly after Dogma.
Now what? Are you gonna get all pissy because you don't understand where the eps of Clerks: The Animated Series fits into the storyline?
Take a step away from the attitude and just watch JASBSB and enjoy it for what it is, a damned funny film by one of the masters of this generation of film-makers.
