Ok, I was at Dave's on saturday, and was had a Kanundrum facing me. Kevin is a man that I respect immensely for all his work, and from everything I have seen or read, someone who I would love to consider a friend... He is nearly the only "celebrity" that I would like to meet, maybe some of the rest, like Lee, etc.. but not many. Now I was faced with the quandry, as I neared the signing table, after nearly 6 hours of waiting in line: what do I say? Do I lavish gratification on him for making such influential movies? (I decided not to because I'm sure he hears that all the time, and I would just appear another rabid fanboy...) I didn't have much time, and really didn't want to take up too much of his time, as there was still a good 2-3 hours worth of line out there... and I'm sure he was tired of signing crap, etc. so basically I just said hi, my name's Steve, and he signed my inserts, we shook hands and left. Now this was kind of a dissapointment for me (my fault) because I didn't have any more interaction than that with Kevin, this man who I respect and agree with on so many levels, someone who I would love to become good friends with (not that it would ever happen) but what else would I do? Now I'm not terribly hung up on this or anything, but I am kinda dissapointed that I couldn't find a better medium between raid fanboy, and mute fan...
I'm kinda wishing I would have just said to Kevin "You really would have fit in perfectly with my friends, and I want to thank you for indirectly being there with us through your movies." or something like that, what do you guys think? How do you see Kevin...?
