Listen, I am tired of reading posts to Kevin or any other ViewAskew alum that bashes them. I've been a fan of Kevin's films for a long time and when I found this website I thought this was the coolest thing that a celebrity could do. He is letting us into his life, letting us be a part of his life, and doing so much for us as fans. He knows what it is like being a fan and has never forgotten it. When a new dvd comes out with 5 hours worth of extra features, when he's at a comicon doing a Q & A and signing, when little shorts come out on Leno or when he answers anyone's post on this board it's for his fans. Kevin Smith does not have to do the shit he does - but he does it because he likes his fans and realizes that there are fans out there who enjoy all of his work. He tries to please everyone but the man is just that...a man. He has a life outside of being a director/writer and we should respect that. But, certain people come on this board and start calling him names, or saying that because he didn't sign one of their books they are no longer a fan, and it's things like that that will make Kevin not want to come on the board and post anymore. I stopped visiting this board for a while because I got so pissed off at the crap that was being said all of the time by some people. About a year ago someone was posting here that Jason Lee was wrong for being a scientologist. I didn't think that was fair and I wrote something in defense of Jason and he actually responded to me, thanking me for being a fan and telling me that it was because of his true fans that he does what he does. He didn't have to write to me, but he did and I'll always remember that. Now, after an absence from this board, I come back and see that the same stuff is still happening and it's sickening. Appreciate Kevin for what he has done for all of us fans and don't degrade him, Scott, Mewes, Lee, Affleck, Malcom, Lynch...well, you can make fun of Lynch...or any of the rest of them. Have some friggin' respect people!
