I've been on Conan - three times now, I think.

The only time I was half-invited to Letterman was during the "Dogma" press,
when a scheduled guest dropped out and they said I could be a replacement.
But I was doing press in L.A., and the show-taping was that night, so I
couldn't make it. I've never been asked again, and the few times I've been
suggested as a guest by my publicist, the Letterman folks have declined.

Now Leno, on the other hand - they actually requested me. After seeing my
last Conan appearance, Dave Berg (the booker there) called Miramax and
asked if I'd like to do the show, to promote "Jay and Silent Bob." For
whatever reason, the folks at the show really dug my appearance, and Debbie
Vickers, the Exec Producer, asked if I'd want to shoot a short film or do
Correspondent pieces for them. I said I'd be happy to do both. They've
all been nothing but grand to me there, from Dave, to Debbie, to Andy
McElfresh (the funny gent who's the real mastermind behind the "Roadside
Attractions" pieces), right on up to Jay himself.

And me? I'm a loyalist. I stick with those who welcome me or give me a
shot. That's why I'm still at Miramax. That's why I'm in the Jason
Lee/Ben Affleck/Jason Mewes business. That's why I'm married to Jen. And
that's why I'll do stuff for the "Tonight Show" until they're like "Fuck
off, kid."
