Ok, let me clear up some things about what I was really trying to say, and what I meant... for one I did generalize in some instances, such as the "everything smith does sucks..." quote, note the word "LIKE" prefacing the quote, that was more in reference to a bunch of people that have come on here with completely non-constructive criticism of kev and his works... I understand that there was some good points listed in your post, but very little. I am not sayign that your opinions are wrong, far from it, I would agree that there are tons of in-jokes in the movei and that it swears excessively, and a few other points, but not all. I agree that you have every right to post here, hell, anyone does really. But there are a few points of your argument that I would like to address. The Swearing for one, I came into the movie expecting about that amount of swearing, just consider that it is a movie about Jay and Silent Bob, jay is the biggest swearer in the whole ViewAskewniverse, without a doubt, with exponenetially more jay, there will be exponentially more swearing, and nonsensical motions, etc... that is part of what the movie is about, we're not supposed to laugh because jay says fuck, or pretends to eat someone out 50 times, we are supposed to laugh because jay is a moron that does some really funny stuff. As for some of the other things in the way the movie worked, such as Rock, Hamil, etc... try to respect the way Kevin wanted them in the movie, they weren't integral characters, and weren't meant to be, just because you have seen Rock do that kind of thing before doesn't mean he sucks, it means you didn't appreciate his part as much. Maybe Kevin liked the way he cast Mark Hamil, etc... maybe the jokes in this movie weren't as intellectually stimulating, they weren't supposed to be: this was a gag movie, it was supposed to be slapsticky, not deep... If you want to say things like this, please say it like "I didn't like the way mark hamil etc were cast, i thought it took away from the movie," not "it was HORRIBLE!..." or "Kevin Smith's new stuff SUCKS VERY VERY BAD!" If you say things like that outright, people are going to tend to ignore the valuable things that you have to say...

I would tell you about this movie, "don't go into it expecting a deep, intellectual comedy, you won't like it" just like I tell people "don't see 'Being John Malkovich' expecting a comedy" I did, and I didn't like the movie, although I see it's good points.

I do apologize for coming across the way I did in my previous post, thie one, I think, better captures my opinions on the matter.
