Let me tell you a story...
Leigh and I met in Jax, FL at a "Quatro de Mayo" party hosted by mutual friends of friends (4 degrees of separation) I was a little tipsy and flirting like a champ. one of the things that I really enjoy is giving back massages, while giving one the girl notices Leigh looking over and says, "She looks like she wants one too." So, I did. I spent the entire rest of the night completely enchanted by this woman who was one week away from moving to NYC to go to school and attempt to break in to the business end of music. A week I was going out to sea. After lots of conversation and just a phenomanal night where we couldn't stand to be away from eachother, I left my house the next day to go to leave at noon.
As it was, she was supposed to have left the following monday morning and I was coming back that afternoon. As it happened we got back on saturday and she left tuesday (after helping her pack monday night)giving us two more evenings together. We spoke on the phone every night for a month and I went to see her once for a week in the city where it became solidified that I couldn't be without her. Her Grandmother offered her home to me while I job/apartment searched and in June after dropping my mom and sister off at the airport, I started on my drive to Jersey.
I once believed in the too strong, too fast notion, but had I not taken this chance, I could have missed out on being the happiest I've ever been.
