dear Mr. Smith,

My name is Taylor Bowne,a 16 year old from Long Island, NY and I just want to say that i am a big fan of yours(but I'm sure that you know that already since I'm on your site an all). There are so many things that I want to say, but I know that you've heard them a thousand times already. So, i just had some questions i wanted to ask you.

1. what made you decide that you wanted to become a film maker?

2. who would you say is your biggest influence in your life? Not just in film making but life in general.

3. on the J&SBSB SE DVD, why is it that you couldnt get the whole cast to be on the commentary? like on the Mallrats DVD?

4. On the J&SBSB DVD filmographys, it said under yours that you were going to be directing the "Clerks" animated movie for 2003 and the new "Fletch" movie Starring Jason lee also for 2003. It also talked about "Jersey Girl"(which i am looking forward to) and that it was slated to come out this year. Are all of these films and dates confermed? and i do really hope you have Jason Lee play a young Fletch.

5. This isn't a question from me really, buy more from my Grandmother. She says that if she ever got the opertunity to meet you she would ask you, "why is it that you feel the need to use such bad language in your fimls?" she has seen all of them and liked them. She thinks you are a very talented writer and directer, but wants to know why you feel the need to in everyone of your films(Dogma is her favorite).

Well, thank you very much for taking the time to read this very long post. I would not have writen this much, but I dont know if i'll ever be able to ask you this in person so i thought what the hell? Good luck in the future and I'll be waiting for "Jersey Girl". Thanks!
