No, it's about parents who futilely attack the things that could potentially warp their children's minds instead of actually sitting down and talking to their kids about it. You're probably feeling guilty of poor parenting, even if you're not conscious of it, but yelling "ban it!" every time your kid sees something you didn't want him/her to see isn't going to do a thing. Parenting isn't about shielding kids from the bad stuff, because you'll never be able to block it all. It's about raising them so that when the bad stuff eventually comes their way, they'll do the right thing.

It's natural to be curious about death.

I love the ass-covering, by the way. "It's for the parents of those poor kids." Jesus. This is a country where we took a video of a man's head getting blown apart, played it over and over again in a movie and gave said movie a bunch of Oscars. There's all those Faces of Death videos. There are books lying around Borders and Barnes & Noble with titles like "Real Crime Scenes". You'd better get crackin', mama.

By rising to the bait, you have sunk to my level. Your pride has totally fucked your sense of superior maturity. Way to go! I'd love to discuss it further with you in chat, but you're too mature for that, too.

Bedtime. Tuck me in?

Katie
