I know we agree on this subject. I thought "Vulgar" came from a very unusual perspective, and O'Halloran's performance has to be seen to be believed (it's a definite breakthrough), but I wouldn't buy that movie solely for the reason that I do not wish to watch an extended rape scene more than once. It's no offense to Bryan; I wouldn't buy "Boys Don't Cry" either. I mention it mostly because I want anyone to know who's planning on seeing or buying this movie that you will be strongly affected by this scene. You know your own issues, so deal with it accordingly.
I'm sort of disappointed that the Dogma documentary will only be on the Vulgar DVD, as I missed it at Vulgarthon. I'm not so sure Vulgar will have a rental release either, since it's unrated???
If you are a big fan of O'Halloran, though, and don't mind watching brutal rape, I'd look into purchasing it.

Generally the movies in my collection are either old ones that I grew up with and loved, or new ones I've either already seen and loved, or heard rave reviews about, and even then, I'll sometimes rent them first to see what I think for myself. I do think that there are probably a certain number of people who will buy the movie simply because it is VA directed/produced, but I simply can't afford that, and like you, would possibly be disappointed if I did.

: Based on what I saw at V3, I would buy BHD, if it were to ever meet with DVD. I loved this movie more than I thought I could. I lol'd. On the other hand, while I am glad I saw Vulgar, I would probably not buy it. Even if I hadn't seen it at V3, I probably wouldn't have bought it for the simple fact that I knew there was a male/clown rape sequence from the things I'd heard, and that's just not something I want in my collection. Don't get me wrong. I would've rented it, had I had the opportunity, just not owned it.
: Tail Light's Fade I saw late at night on HBO. I, unlike a lot of people, liked the movie. I'm not sure I would buy it, but I liked it. Drawing Flies; I will reserve my decision until I hear what others have to say.
