: : I just purchased Star Wars Trilogy (4-6, the good episodes) on DVD. Some of my friends said i was crazy for not waiting the 5 (not til after episode 3) years it is released here, but I wanted it now. Am I crazy?

: No , you're half right ... Lucasfilm did an offical release of the VCDs mainly to combat the VCD pirate market in Asia and the ones that make their way over here. I've seen them here at local shops for like 59.00 which is cool to have on a digital format but correct me if I'm wrong , yours are a full frame right ? As far as I had seen no widescreen editions were made. Why Lucasfilm just won't out the original trilogy out , bare bones even makes no sense to a lot of people. I mean , who isn't going to buy them twice anyhow ??
: Hasn't everyone already done that with the VHS copies ? So , no you aren't crazy , just a vcd owner now ...

This is an auction of a similar item to what i purchased. Lucas has no distribution rights over there. They aren't official, but they are widescreen and DD5.1/THX. They don't have good special features like the ones which will be release, but i do have the movie :)
