Ethan and her actually had a very serious relationship in the past which Kevin knew all about. Ethan even told Kevin about this obsessive compulsive disorder Shannen had where anytime someone said "Brenda" to her, she shouted "Dick!" and had to find some guy to fuck and/or blow. On the set one day, Shannen pissed off Kevin so much that he had Ethan say "Brenda" to her during shooting. It wasn't in the script and was pure improv. After it happened, Shannen stormed off the set and ravaged a poor stagehand on the side. She was arrested and fined for committing a lewd act in public.
