: Maybe I just was never that way myself. But from where I was watching, the girls were hateful from the get-go. They were struck by the most callous, casual impulses and followed them without a second thought. They (Thora, anyway) were negative about everything and everyone around them, yet had no dreams, values or goals of their own. I knew plenty of girls who had that nasty attitude, but they were the popular girls, not the punk-rock misfits. These are people devoid of compassion.
I don't think you were supposed to quite catch on how little dreams Thora (if not the other one) had right away. I have one thing here, and that's that I think that anybody who's ever gone to any kind of art school has meant plenty of people whose response to the world not embracing them is to say "Fuck the world!" and criticize everything. For some reason, most of these people get involved with drama club somehow in high school, and wind up coming to film school (or a half-dozen other majors) with no real ambition to go into the field (no dreams or goals), but just because they think it would be something they could do because they like movies. Something like that, anyway ... I'm just saying, I've *definitely* met Enid.
: I was disturbed that she didn't get MORE of a comeuppance, actually. The things she did were just horrible and unnecessarily cruel. If anything, she's punished by the realization that she is more mock-worthy than the people whom she looks down upon. Still, it wasn't enough; I was waiting for somebody to do something really terrible to her, and it didn't happen.
That's life, though, isn't it? Different strokes, though I don't think your opinion is ill-informed, which is something that would spark off an over-zealous counter-attack.
: Who was David Cross? I'm ignorant, appease me.
He's at the record party, as said below. My favorite thing is when he goes "Oh, there's a seat right there!" and also the way he laughs before he says "That was so rude! Nah, you're cool."
