Same way that their 'scandal' is basically incomprehensible to people, where Clinton's involved easy to understand words, like 'blowjob'. They just assume -- correctly -- that nobody will listen and their words will seem wise. Not saying that's what's going on here, just that that is a tradition of sorts.
