I think they were clearly implying international terrorism. But in answer to your question, the DEA is not above lying to the people. Simply try and find out what happened to the study THEY sponsored and paid for (using taxpayer money) about two years ago regarding medical marijuana. It was completely suppressed because it proved that herbal marijuana (rather than the legal, if expensive, synthetic-THC drug that the government supports) is the best treatment available for nauseous terminal AIDS and cancer patients. Yet the DEA is still busting growers in California -- why? Doesn't the federal government have more important things to take care of?
The fact is that the government is using a tragic event to expand its powers and limit the civil rights of the American people. But I should say no more -- they could be reading this right now, due to the Patriot Act.
: Not to beat a dead horse, but if the 'terrorism' being discussed in the commercial was meant to be within the country and not international, why is the media making such a big deal about the bust of heroin purported to be connected with bin Laden? I'm not saying you're right or wrong, having not seen the commercial. What I am saying is, don't you think it's possible that the government -- fairly commonly regarded as evil -- may have made that commercial say one thing quickly but were actually trying to lie to and confuse the people? Just throw two enemies together that way and make people hate them both that much more. That's my thought upon seeing the headlines of various NY papers today.
