I think on the technical commentary for Dogma SE, Vin said that the sculpter cut the head off of a Judas statue, put a new head on, and sculpted the arm, I guess the reason for the dots on the toys is some sort of wrist stigmata (also the face of buddy christ is modeled after the sculpter himself)
