I know the solution to this. It's actually quite simple...just don't put much thought into anything relationship related and there will be no conflict (i.e. if you get a feeling from the way something was said...blow it off, or better yet, smile and nod)...that way you are oblivious of the pressure until there is a big blow out, and then you can play stupid.
You'll have to excuse my stupidity at this late hour...my brain was just sound asleep after attempting to watch that "Are You Stormin' Norman?" Video.
