Dear Kevin,
I stumbled across your website and wanted to ask your advice if I could. Your work has been a great inspiration to me and was one of the driving forces for my trying to make a film.
I just finished my first feature film and it was accepted into the New York International Independent Film Festival. Its titled 'Bench Warmers' and it had a lot of infuence from your first film Clerks. The story is about 6 people from different walks of life that are held hostage in a convenience store by a desperate thief.
Well here is my question, with this being my first attempt at any kind of filmmaking endeavor, is there any advice you can give me as to what I should do from here? I've had a lot of people tell me I should attempt to find an agent in the event a distributor could be interested, others tell me to go straight to the distributors and try to get one of their reps out to see the premiere.
I thank you for your time and any advice you can afford me, please feel free to email me at reese_williams@yahoo.com or call me at (808)782-9625.
Also I'd like to invite you to the premiere, I know you're a very busy man and the chances of you coming to a complete "no name's" premiere in New York City are quite long, yet if you were in town by chance, it would be a great honor to meet you in person. It will be at the Sutton 1 Theatre at 12 noon on February 9th.
Sincerely,
Reese Williams
