The story is tawdry and the ending over-happy.

Affleck is a one-dimensional villain, Shannon for the most pitiful of reasons comes back to her man,, Forlani doesn't seem to mind that her father and her future have been jeapordized, Renee Humphrey does NOT look fifteen and Jason Lee seems undeserving of such a number of friends and such a devoted girlfriend.

Do these a bad movie make? NO! Hell, there's a million things I could go on about "The Godfather", but why should I? It's terrific!

That said, "Mallrats" IS the least developed of Smith's feature work.
