: True it is essentially a gimmick but it's a gimmick that really helps you emphasise with the lead character - you have to remember he has no fuckin' idea what is going on and has to put the "clues" together each day. Well anyone watching it for the first time is put in that exact same position and I think it works well for the story.
: Thanks to a hidden feature on the Canadian DVD I've watched the movie in chronological order and it really does lose a lot of it's power when viewed that way. I really enjoyed the movie but I can also see why it's not for everyone... so it's all good.
