Thanks for recognizing what is a great little film that people seem to have forgotten about. After all the hype, Renee managed to pull off a pretty decent Brit accent while giving Bridget all the strange and endearing quirks of the book, and Colin Firth's parody/tribute to his Mr. Darcy was brilliant. Hugh was amazingly seductive as sleazy Cleaver. I also appreciated how true to the novel the film was (which I'm sure had something to do with the director being pals with the writer) but it never lost its sense of momentum. Unlike, say, Harry Potter, which-whilst charming and visually spot on-felt to me like a book on tape at times. Thanks for your two cents!
