I know that I may as well hold up a sign that says "Park your boatload of $hit here!" but I'll go out on this tiny fragile limb and mention that some people say that what you describe is symptomatic of astral projection. What you're experiencing is more than just the random firing of brain cells but rather your emergence into another plane of existence.

: the dog. But it did kinda freak me out combining two elements from my reacurring dreams. The first: nowing your dreaming but being unable to wake up, you dream you awaken, but realize it's still a dream. The Second: Dreaming of being deeply in love, but waking up alone. God that always kills me.
