This is a repost as it was originally posted on chrismas morning and nobody got to read it...
This is pure speculation on my part, and is probably not true... but when kevin says there will be some surprises... the hampster wheel in my mind starts going...
The FACTS:
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are exec producing a film called Stolen Summer, which was the winner of the big PROJECT GREENLIGHT screenwriting contest and now HBO reality TV show (which kevin appeared on 2 weks ago because the director wanted to talk to him about making the movie).
The film will be released by marimax (who kevin is in bed with), in March of 2002... but will be showing sometime between January 10-20, 2002 at the sundance film festival...
Ben and Matt are sure to be in UTAH for the festival showing, and are probably off for the week or so... or may-be I'm assuming too much...
Only 2 films are announced for Vulgarathon with A better place and Drawing files being confirmed on this board by various reds, as not showing.... this leaves 3 open spots... which I expect atleast Jay and Bob to take up one of, and maybe the Dogma documentary another... but I can't just seem to figure what the other could be unless... THIS.
Also Jason Lee is not appearing at the THON... and I know no celebrity guests are garenteed... but wouldn't you expect one or two more big names from the films? Afleck???? Damon??? okay this one may be too far fetched...
However, Stolen Summer is a very artsy movie which would play well to maybe half kevin's audience... but the other half, The more mainstream or druggy crowd... it probably wouldn't...
What is everyones thoughts?
