Not to mention that the "Secret Cabal Fucking Shit Up" unifying sketches were interesting for the first episode or two and then... you realized... they're not stopping with it. They just keep... showing up... episode after episode after episode.

I think the mark of a truly quality comedy troupe is when their skits... even if they don't click with you sometimes, there's always something in there interesting, that keeps your attention till the next one. Even if you're not laughing at the major premise, the little touches can still get you going.

The State did this for most of its run... as did Monty Python... as Mr Show.

The Kids in the Hall may well have done it, day in and day out, for their entire run.

UCB certainly did not... but I found enough nuggets in there to watch it... uh... semi-regularly, at least.
