I started out as a double major: Theatre and English. I figured the two went hand in hand, but the workload for both was rather massive, so I had to choose. Since I write much more eloquently than I could ever speak, I decided to go with English. I hadn't really declared theatre, either, but I was very involved my first two years of college.
