It was a total mind-fuck. I had been looking forward to it for a while due to Cameron, your involvement, as well as Tom Cruise's.
And it delivered the goods. It was brilliant, in my opinion...and the best film I've seen this year so far.
Very Kubrick-esque.

When it comes down to it, the end (and the big twist and explanation) is sort of similar to The Matrix, Existenz, and the 13th Floor...all of which came out a couple of years ago. However, it still feels fresh.
One quick question for you though about your character. How exactly did Julie find out that David called her his "fuck buddy." The only way she would have found out is if your character, Brian, told her during the conversation they had during the party. Brian denies to David telling her that, and then it's pretty much forgetten, and never mentioned again.
Maybe the more than 40 minutes cut out of the early test screening version of the film touched on this. Who knows. Hopefully we'll get to see all that stuff on a future VS DVD, much like the new AWESOME AF bootleg DVD.
Oh, and hell yeah...way to go on getting to make out with Penelope Cruz!

One more thing, had you watched the original Spanish film, "Open Your Eyes" before you guys started to film?
