Look, outside of a few bright spots like "Headbangers Ball," "Alternative Nation," "Amp," "120 Minutes," and the much-missed "YO! MTV Raps," MTV has NEVER been anything but a 24 hour continuous run of mini-commercials for whatever artists are "hot" at the moment...people talk of this mystical, magical time when MTV was some sort of land of musical milk and honey...grunge wasn't that great, it was only slightly less crybabyish than the nu-metal bands whinning over the airways today, and I can count the number of actually GOOD and forever classic "grunge" bands on less than 10 fingers (Hint: it's NOT "MotherLoveTadCandleScreamingBlindMelonPearlAliceTempleSoulAsylumTemplePilots")...today, as it's been for almost 20 years now, the best bands are mostly and largely unknown, with only a few getting a chance to shine out...someone as great as Nirvana is all well and good, but do we really have to put up with the wave of immitators that inveitably follow and of about 95% of which are utter poo? And I'm sick of people pussing out and thinking they actually have a point by bashing bubblegum pop bands. Unless you're 13 and under, it's not made for you, you're not the audience, so why give a shit? I hear a bubblegum song, I change the channel...it's NOT there 24seven as most put-upon slacker-hipsters would have you believe, and it's retarded and musically facists to expect MTV and the radio to NEVER play a single song you don't like...there has yet to be a time in my lifetime when I could just roll over and easily find a great artist, and it's not happening anytime soon, though people inexpicably think it's going to...as with anything, you have to look and listen a little harder to find the good stuff...demographics and sales charts aren't going away, and bubblegum pop always has and and will rule...it never went away, though those who put their faith in the church of grunge seem to have forgotten the wave of lukewarm bubblegum acts that co-ruled the charts in the early 90's, just as they did before and do today...

Here, I'll make it easy: everyone stop crying and go listen to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Queens of The Stone Age, The Shins, Clem Snide, The Dismemberment Plan, Jimmy Eat World, and Saves The Day and find your own way from there....I really, REALLY get annoyed with my generation sometimes...
