No, britney-98-back-synch-aguilaira or limp-korn-rageagainst-eminem is not in My CD player, and I do break out the vinyl on occation. (yes, my fellow sound engineers raise their eyebrows at me when I mention that one!)
I wont turn this into a "my fav music is better than yours", but suffuce it to say, we can agree that the quality, musicianship and the sonic quality of music has taken the biggest nosedive in the last 10 years.
