: In this format, if you just want to read one person's response in a thread, you can do it... without wading through every little piddling asshole's opinion and ramblings.
Tried that. The reds often reply to the original question, but a lot of times you HAVE to read the earlier posts in order to actually understand the answer given by the person who's post you wanted to read. Does that work as a sentence?
: Ultimately, this board is to facilitate Kevin and Viewaskew people to get their news out to the fanbase... and this format facilitates it best for those reasons.
Uh...newsaskew.com posts anything that is actually newsworthy within a day of it being on here.
It's good to see them answering questions, but that's hardly dispersing news.
: It's what-you-see-is-what-you-get simplicity is useful to web and web-board newbies... the only people who don't like it are jaded net-vets who want their boards with bells and whistles.
You mean all the web and web-board newies hoo type like this? Thy'r gr8! JAY AND SILENT BOB ROOLZ IT IS THE BEST FLIM I HAVE EVER SEEN!!
Maybe if they actually took the time to read the board before posting they'd realise exactly how necessary that isn't. I take most of your points to some extent, but anyone with the intelligence to have something worth saying can work out how to use a web board.
: Since it lacks bells and whistles, it's low-bandwidth and doesn't take up much site memory... which helps people on 28.8s and what not.
Fair point.
: And most importantly, it's what Kevin's most comfortable with.
So was filming in a convenience store after hours.
This board, assuming that the fanbase keeps growing, will be useless within two years.
